The metal honeycomb mini substrate is a compact, high–specific-surface-area catalytic carrier commonly used in motorcycles, small engines, and secondary air catalytic systems. Its structure typically consists of alternating micro corrugated and flat Fe-Cr-Al foil sheets, which are wound and brazed together to form a high-strength honeycomb configuration. Due to its extremely thin walls and excellent thermal conductivity, the substrate can reach activation temperature within seconds after engine ignition, enabling rapid light-off reactions. Compared with traditional ceramic micro substrates, the metal honeycomb mini substrate offers superior resistance to vibration and thermal shock, making it highly suitable for engines operating under frequent start–stop conditions or in high-vibration environments.
